Catblogging Shmatblogging
No cat would do this. I could totally see Unqualified Dog in this role. Okay, Unqualified Dog would probably bring the poor kid toys in the vain hope that he would throw them for her, but even that might attract some attention.
Hat tip: Mrs. Offering.

Hmm. My parents’ cat Maxwell a.k.a. The Infinitely Friendly Cat might just do that. She’s getting a little old and weak, however, so she might not be physically up to the task of saving babies. Maxwell seems to have unconditional love for all humans, family and strangers alike.

Whachu got against cat-bloggin’? You just don’t like how photogenic mine is?
When Tony (aka “Dammit, Cat!”) was a new member of the household, he very accurately sussed up all three of the Obscura kids. #1-Son became a littermate, Daughter (who was 2 years old and went by the appellation “Bitsy” at the time because she *wasn’t*) was smacked regularly to remind her of her place as a girl, and the family runt. But #2-Son, the autistic, was allowed to get away with murder. That cat allowed the child to pull his tail and use his belly for a pillow.
While he might not have dragged the above-linked baby to safety, he probably would have sat vigil by it.

“No cat would do this.”
So right. That’s why we love them.
