BSG 2.20 Addendum: Around the Galacticasphere
Spoilers!
Major Olmsted thought the season finale was “rather scattershot.”
Timothy Sandefur ranked it “a fantastic episode. If it had a flaw, it was that so much happened in such a short time; this should have been the last half of the season, rather than a single one and a half hour finale.” Apparently, by the by, he has never seen Deadwood, the real “most intelligent show on television.” Timothy, as a fellow libertarian, I urge you, go watch every Deadwood episode now. That said, Timothy’s Strauss-Popper cage match over the propriety of Roslin’s actions is worth reading. Also, he suggests that Numbers 11 is the secret codex to the episode.
Also, I suppose I asked for this:

You scored as Tom Zarek. You began your career as a terrorist, but that was so your voice could be heard. You alone know the right path, and anyone who gets in your way is fighting against the good of you all. Still, you can wait, and you can fight your war in any arena.

What New Battlestar Galactica character are you?

It could be worse:
You scored as Dr Gaius Baltar.
You have betrayed humanity, for a blonde. However you’d rather people learnt to just get past that. After all, you never meant wipe out the human race. Luckily you are cleverer than everyone else, so no one will ever know. Even though they look at you with suspicion behind their eyes.
Dr Gaius Baltar 63%
Capt. Lee Adama (Apollo) 56%
Tom Zarek 56%
Commander William Adama 50%
President Laura Roslin 31%
Lt. Kara Thrace (Starbuck) 31%
CPO Galen Tyrol 31%
Number 6 25%
Col. Saul Tigh 25%
Lt. Sharon Valerii (Boomer) 25%

Deadwood’s on HBO, right? I don’t have that. Is it available on DVD?

but check out that four way tie.
You scored as President Laura Roslin.
You may be ill but you have a job to do. Fate has put you in a powerful position by accident, but it turns out you are damn good at it. You are no warrior, but in the political arena you are without peer.
CPO Galen Tyrol 69%
Dr Gaius Baltar 69%
President Laura Roslin 69%
Tom Zarek 69%
Lt. Sharon Valerii (Boomer) 56%
Col. Saul Tigh 56%
Capt. Lee Adama (Apollo) 56%
Number 6 44%
Lt. Kara Thrace (Starbuck) 13%
Commander William Adama 13%

I know we have seven months to gnaw on the scraps, but I thought I’d work out my thoughts on Roslin and religion.
She might not think she’s blogging about BSG, but for someone concerned with a society of individuals eternally migrating from one body to the next, Ron Moore could do worse than look at what Eve is thinking about.

Deadwood’s great, Jim, but you should really, really watch The Wire.

Yes, Jim, but look at the numbers. Your scores run between 19% and 56% for all the characters. Mine run between 25% and 63%. My darling spouse has a range from 0% to 100%. You may not like what she is, but she is, unapologetically, all that.
And a bag of chips.

Pickng up from your prtevious BSG thread, its pretty plain what Moore plans to do now. The Cylons view Humanity like Bush viewed saddam Hussein. Irredeemable.
Now, they want to ”convert” humanity to their way of thinking, like any imperial power.
I think you will start seeing a lot of Baghdad on New Caprica story lines developing. With Baltar playing Ahmed Chalabi.
