(Update) Lt. Colonel Oliver North: How Speaker Pelosi Ought Spend Mother’s Day

By Mona

Ollie North (at Townhall, natch):
Mothers Day. It’s a wonderful occasion for Pelosi and her comrades in Congress to reflect on what will happen to millions of Muslim women if Congress pulls the plug on their protectors.
Yeah, you Pelosi bitch, don’t go removing the protectors of all these Iraqi mothers and their children:
Three women and two children were among at least 30 people who died Thursday [November 24, 2005] when a suicide car bomb went off outside a hospital in Mahmoudiya, south of Baghdad.

UPDATE:

As it happens, Nancy Pelosi has published a Mother’s Day post at Huffpo, drafted in her capacities as Speaker, mother and grandmother; she certainly has been reflecting as Col. North admonished she do, but not unto reaching his conclusion:
There are numerous reasons to end this war – the cost of lives and limbs, the cost in dollars, the cost to our reputation in the world, the cost to our military and National Guard – but it is as a mother, that I am most committed to ending this war, because war hits mothers in an especially painful and personal way. We cannot help but think of our fellow mothers as their young sons and daughters are sent off to war in Iraq – praying for their child’s safety, anxiously awaiting a call, an e-mail, a letter – anything. The relief as their children return, or the utter devastation when their children never come home. We think too of the Iraqi mothers, who have lost their children, and whose children are growing up surrounded by warfare and destruction.
.
Let us heed the call of Julia Ward Howe and make this Mother’s Day a Mother’s Day for Peace, and as mothers, as daughters, and as families, bring an end to this war.

This being the very same guy who gave money and weapons to terrorists who raped and murdered women in Nicaragua just a couple of decades ago, somehow I can’t imagine his concern is really all that sincere.

Um, Ollie, the US isn’t protecting women in Iraq. The US replaced blood-soaked tyranny with blood-soaked chaos.

And to build on Avram’s comment, if Ollie were so concerned about human rights in the Middle East he wouldn’t have sold weapons to Iran.

look, I know that me and my gang of drunken friends broke into the hospital, shot the real doctors dead, and began cutting up patients who didn’t really need surgery.

But damn it, man, some of these people are in critical condition now! How can you ask us to abandon them?

    Avram,

You beat me to it. I was wondering how many mothers and kids were killed by the Contras and Salvadoran death squads.

Oliver North is good for nothing but compost. Someday soon, I hope, that filthy butcher will return his elements to the soil and do something productive for the first time in his entire worthless fucking life.
