Last Refuge of Scoundrels Still “Patriotism,” Experts Say

“As for no-confidence votes, maybe senators need a refresher course on American civics,” said White House spokesman Tony Fratto, with President George W. Bush in Crawford, Texas. “What I mean is I think you find no-confidence votes in parliamentary systems, not the American system of government.”

That’s.

Awesome.

But after all the stuff Bush himself has cribbed from Bonapartist systems, a little diversification may be in order.

Wow, he came so close to pulling it off there, but just couldn’t get land it. Its “parliamentary systems like in France.” Better luck next time Tony!

So I’m not the only one who has noticed how Bonapartist the whole neocon thing is? I mean using the military power and crony governments to topple the old regimes and replace them with glittering utopian democracies. Of course your average neo* would probably be offended to realize that they have more in common with the losers at Waterloo than they think.
