The snowmen in Baghdad are interesting, though. It’s not my impression that Iraqis get a lot of experience with making snowmen.
But, hey, the kids in Bethlehem wouldn’t have had much more, either. It does happen, certainly. Just not often.

Jim, I was unable to access that article – registration was required, and Bugmenot failed (I think that they have a new barrier to intercept Bugmenot’s).

I can’t recall the last time Bugmenot worked for me, but I’m sure it wasn’t in 2007. I figured it was a great idea in its time, but that it was, alas, long since defeated by almost every site it was useful at.

Well as long as Santa is flying Turkish colors, the American military will let him violate Iraqi airspace, and seeing that the original St. Nicholas was the Bishop of Myra which is in Anatolia, so he lived in modern day Turkey.
