How do we know that the Bush Administration didn’t commit this act, very be simply, it was actually pulled off. If Bush & Co were behind this the Twin Towers would still be up & the whole operation would seriously behind schedule & tens of billions of dollars over budget.
Bravo!

By that reasoning there wouldn’t be a war with Iraq on yet.
By that reasoning Bush wouldn’t have managed to get two terms, no matter how he did it.

Yeah, exactly, what Bryan said. The Bush administration is very efficient in delivering for their constituency - oilmen and American-based big business in general. The tax cuts is another example.

I’ll back that, and even post as ‘abb3′ if needed.
The Bush administration has f*cked up a lot of stuff, but if one subtracts the f*ck-ups which still got them goodies, there’s a lot less there. If one further subtracts the stuff that they didn’t give a f*ck about, or might have wanted to screw up, it’s even better.
This is not to say that they’re deliberately screwing everything up, but that screwing stuff up doesn’t have the consequences for them that it would for us. Money and power is on their side, which provides a lot of fault-toleration.

You guys don’t understand the point of a thread celebrating a snarky comment.

Sorry for double posting, but my comments were disappearing for some reason. On Yglesias’ blog too. Maybe I’m slowly drifting away, into some parallel universe or something.

Thoreau, we’re Evul Fashists Librulz. You’re lucky we don’t give you a mandatory hug.
I came across something sweet on unfogged: One of my observations is that this, like much of Bushco’s mode of operation, can be characterized by malevolence wrapped inside of incompetence wrapped inside of malevolence

“One of my observations is that this, like much of Bushco’s mode of operation, can be characterized by malevolence wrapped inside of incompetence wrapped inside of malevolence”
ie, two wrongs don’t make a right, but three wrongs make a windfall.
