And at that Time Bequeath You My Diseases
I think Atrios and I agree that Kyra Phillips wanting to determine that the Armless Boy of Baghdad appreciated "Operation Iraqi Freedom and the meaning" was the paradigmatic depravity of the Days of Shock and Awe.

That’s a pretty bad one.
The thing that stood out for me was the time we tried to get Saddam Hussein in a restaurant. He had left, but fourteen unfortunate diners hadn’t and died. The fact was noted almost as an asterisk.

Remember that conversation in Hell between Remiel and one of the damned, at the end of the “Season of Mist” storyline in Sandman?

Bush was about as bad. I seem to recall reading that he was insistent upon finding a new leader for Iraq who would thank us for invading.

Can you even imagine what that doctor must have been thinking about our dear Kyra?

I remember that boy being the start of it being clear that there would be no real PICTURES or VIDEO from The Iraq War. It moved me perceptibly closer to vacating the US. I couldn’t believe that the media was going along with the no pictures thing. Actually, they still are (present company and The Agitator excluded), and it is still sick.

My thoughts exactly, Mona. That gentleman has a great deal more self-control than I.

Unless a wounded kid was hurt by someone other than the US, as in the case of the boy who was badly burned by strangers/insurgents/Al Qaeda/psychopaths. CNN brought him over for plastic surgery. Which is nice and all, but I’m guessing there are plenty of kids who could use help over there, many of whom have injuries that we are responsible for.
