Sympathy for the Reason

The Peasants: Revolting?

The standard apologist line for Democratic-Party fecklessness on war and civil liberties is that the leadership can’t be any better than the people, and the people support warrantless wiretapping and torture and pursuing doomed wars forever, so tough noogies. Meantime, if a Democrat wins the White House, "at least we’ll get health care."
