Thoughts for the Day

  • John McCain is the downer cow of American politics.
  • David Gregory of MSNBC’s Race for the White House seems to hate Barack Obama so much that one hopes Obama’s secret-service detail has a profile on him.
  • People say we need a massive government program to increase usage of the word "peripatetic," but I think Matthew Yglesias, about to move his blog to yet another URL, proves what individual initiative can do on that score.
  • People ought to consider showing up to their own goodbye parties, amirite?

Does that mean that downer cows are the John McCains of the American meat industry?

“the John McCains of the American meat industry”

shouldn’t that title be reserved for a downer steer married to a cash cow?

    Oh, well done, kid.

I don’t think David Gregory hates Barack Obama. I think he wants to be Mr. Hard Hitting News Man, and Barack Obama is the only game in town.

Making John McCain look bad on television is like mounting a woodchuck’s head on your wall.

My friends, when it comes to wielding a cattle prod, those slaugherhouse workers have got NOTHING on your average gook prison guard.
