Nothing to see here, move along

By Thoreau

Well, they solved the anthrax case: The culprit was a scientist at a military lab, and before any charges could be filed he committed suicide.

Look, for all I know he may indeed be the real culprit, he may have acted alone, and his suicide may have been real. But, well, it’s not like there’s a shortage of reasons for mistrust. I stopped believing them a long time ago when they said that they found the #3 guy in Al Qaeda, so why should I believe them when they say that they found the anthrax culprit?

At least they didn’t claim that he choked on vomit of unknown origin.

Normally I’d say that the official statement is evidence that this is the official statement, and that the truth of the matter remains indeterminate, but might well be somewhere not too far from the line. These days (and until there’s a purge of both personnel and methods), I think it safer to start by assuming that the statement is a deliberate lie, even when lying isn’t called or.

Does anybody really believe the FBI anymore. Our answer to the keystone cops. Remember the Hatfield, the first guy they hounded for years? Well, he got a 5 million settlement. Remember the humpty-dumpty rent-a-cop from the Atlanta Olympic bombings that the FBI tried to pin the crime on? Now, this new guy is a rock-solid suspect, and he conveniently commits suicide. What a friggin’ joke.

This would be a lot more convincing if the guy’s last name were Bentonite.

There are lots of possibilities here. He might be the wrong guy, but he committed suicide because he couldn’t handle what was coming at him. He might be the guy who did it, and he might have even committed suicide, but maybe it was because he had secrets that he wanted to take to the grave, i.e. maybe he was “just following orders” in 2001 and he’s being “a good soldier” now.

There are lots of possibilities, and while I won’t presume that the darker ones are true, neither will I presume that the official story is true. I need to learn more.

    I need to learn more.

Yeah, well, good look with that. We’ll hear more once they’ve worked out how the suicide was actually a hit ordered by Iran to cover their tracks. “Anthrax is a soil bacterium. And you know who has soil? Iran.”

Did you know that the gastrointestinal tract of the typical Persian contains billions of bacteria, many of them quite deadly?

Persians are 70% dihydrogenmonoxide by weight.

If you tap my phone I’m going to tell Mom.

What most people don’t realize is that Persians have access to a series of tubes that stretches around the world. Can you imagine what they might do with that kind of access?

We all owe the Spartans a greater debt than most of us realize. We’d already be living in the Persian Caliphate if it weren’t for them.

How exactly are you going to “learn more” here. T.? What is the plan? To wait for 24 to do a storyline?
