Orange Alert
By Thoreau
I have received intelligence indicating an imminent threat against this country. A group of religious radicals is gathering in Minneapolis. They are plotting to set off bombs in regions near the Straits of Hormuz, kidnap and torture Americans, and impose their fundamentalist values on unwilling people. All Americans are advised to take appropriate precautions and report suspicious activities.
EDIT: Right now, the barbarians are howling because she said “Al Qaeda is trying to kill us and [Obama] is worried because somebody won’t read them their rights.” First, I’ve got serious doubts about Obama’s civil libertarian bona fides. Second, decent Americans worry when they hear that cops don’t have to play by rules. Third, I get disgusted hearing a crowd that dares call itself “conservative” howl in laughter when the Bill of Rights is mocked.

Palin was no doubt talking about Supreme Court rulings like Boumediene v. Bush, which relate to the rights for foreign combatants. Nothing to do with cops, or the bill of rights (since that applies only to American citizens). But I’m guessing you knew that.

I preferred Palin’s speech when it was delivered by Clayton Bigsby, Black White-supremacist.
