Deadblogging the Debates

1. For my birthday, I’d like to punch Mike Murphy in the face.

2. Palin seems to have a "Message: I Care" problem. She gets too meta with her answers, wanting to explain – "I’m going to talk straight to the American people and show them my etc."; "I’m the new energy" – the symbolism of herself. For the apotheosis of Republican anti-intellectualism she’s determinedly postmodern, embedding the essay about her novel into the story as she tells it.

You’re too postmodern Jim, I didn’t understand that at all.

Palin is the love child of Stuart Smalley and Sue Ann Niven. Brechtian, yo.

I’m glad to know that I wasn’t the only one who thought that maybe saying “I’m a massively mavericky ordinary regular plain gal” was not the best way to get across the message that she was a MMORPG.

Too “on the nose”, you think? Is it a “show, don’t tell” failure?

I didn’t watch the debate (anger management issues), so who the f*ck is Mike Murphy, and why does Jim wanna go quasi-Cheney on him?

Mike Murphy did cut that rat’s nest off his skull, so he’s not all bad. Now, the problem is what is contained within that skull.
