Thoreau You Ignorant Slut
Yes, Tina Fey is awesome, but the guy who plays Biden in the debate skit deserves major love. The peroration on Scranton is superb.

All the neoconservative witchdoctors tutoring Palin should be forced to live in Scranton as penance.

No ‘Skins posts? Did whoever is using Henley’s ID kill him or just find him dead?

Also, no reference to the Killers playing SNL, again? I am surprised… I know Thoreau is a fan. (My take on the appearance: the first song is a definite grower, after the lulling intro, it pops like the best from Hot Fuss & Sam’s Town. The second song sounds completely unlike what I have heard. Not badly, necessarily; just, different.)
(& speaking of different: the four Killers appear to think they are, in appearance, in four different bands. The guitarist could well be from Whitesnake, the bassist, from Modest Mouse. The drummer looks like Jim Carrey portraying a drummer in a Farrelly Brothers’s movie about a fictional band. & Brandon Flowers, perhaps this is due his Saintliness (Mormon!), looks like an impersonator doing a Donny Osmond set at an hotel lounge in Wichita.)

Well, Jim, this just goes to show: It’s always something. If it isn’t one thing, it’s another.

It was funny, all right, but so-so at best as an actual impression of Biden.

Scranton is the new Peoria. I’m from Akron ,Ohio, which has been the butt of New Yorker magazine jokes since before my eighty-year old parents were born.
Thank God the Mid-west is no longer having to apologize for Peoria or Dan Quayle(and comparing Sarah Palin to Dan Quayle is beyond insulting to Dan Quayle. I disagreed with him on practically every policy point he ever had, but his opinions were fact and reasoned based, and when he wqsn’t having to spell tomatoe he was generally quite informed and articulate. Palin’s opinions are just based on RP sound bites.

Akron has given us LBJ — by which I mean, Lebron — & was the stepping-stone to national prominence for Klosty — by which I mean, Chuck Klosterman — so your city’s keep has more than been earned.
