This boy is ignorance. This girl is want.

By Thoreau

Beware them both and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased.

There has always been an ignorant element and there always will be.  However, to see the ignorant element so skillfully rallied by people in power, people with a real chance at even greater power, and to see them courted so openly in a contest that could decide the election (Ohio), is scary.  Moreover, to see them so openly claim that Obama is a terrorist, a member of the category for whom they recognize no concept of law, a member of a category that they would see subject to violence without restraint, is frightening.  All here know that on policy I have no great confidence in Obama, and that I fear that he will continue many of the crimes that I denounce in the status quo.  To whatever extent my fears are accurate, I perceive a problem to be corrected by the application of law, civic debate, investigative journalism, and open electoral processes.  But when I hear the loyalists of the opposition categorize him as a different problem, a problem that they would meet with lawless violence, well, I worry.  And when I hear that the opposition whips them up, I become frightened.

Riots and lynch mobs have plagued this nation before, their memories still haunt us, and they can still return.  To hear the powerful of the high places whip up the mob scares the hell out of me.

If they’d rather die, then let them get on with it and reduce the surplus population!

Re Palin: ignorance is not an evil, but pride in ignorance, like any other form of pride, is a sin.

I saw a sign in Ohio that said “Hussein Obama – Muslim For President.”

    It wasn’t homemade.

There’s nothing about these people that a kick in the stomach wouldn’t solve.

I keep wanting to tie this scorched earth policy to the secessionist AIP, but then I’d have to decide that Palin herself was driving it and I don’t think the McCain camp would let her have that much control.

Perhaps an actual End Times would induce Axl to finally come out with Chinesse Democracy. (As I recall, the End of Days sdtrk. for the film of same name — featuring future California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger — included “Ohmigod” from the reconstructed GN’R. This was late ‘99. When CD was only three years in the works.)

So, if we at least get some new Guns, it won’t be all bad, an Obama Presidency.
