The Rats in the Polls: Epilogue

Mark Levin stays classy at the Corner:

PS – John McCain just gave a classy concession speech.  If McCain had won, we were told of possible riots.

First: Piss off. Second: Yes, by right-wing fearmongers. Third: Nyah nyah nyah! Fourth: Piss off.

Fifth, McCain’s speech was good, but his crowd was an ugly booing rabble.

Sixth, McCain’s speech could have been improved by cutting out the bit that implied that now that we’ve elected a black president, hey, racism must be over.

…that we’ve elected a black president, hey, racism must be over.

Screaming about it will be, though. If not, no one will pay attention.

Yeah, there were also warnings that if Obama won there would also be riots of evidently happy black people who would be compelled to express their happiness in their own simple fashion: by burning and looting.

There has been exactly one riot – though it’s more like a “riot” – following an election in my lifetime. It took place in a country government building in Florida in 2000, and was carried out by lily-white Republican staffers flown in for the occasion.

So, first, ha ha, second, piss off, and third, piss off.

The people I heard talking about riots if Mccain won were teenage liberals. They sounded almost hopeful.

They people I heard talking about riots were conservatives and libertarians, and they sounded smug.
