Farce, reality, who knows anymore?
By Thoreau
1) Joe the Plumber is going to be a war correspondent, talking to the average Joe’s of the Israel-Gaza conflict. I somehow doubt he’ll venture into Gaza and ask an average Yusuf al-Plumber what he thinks of the situation. When will his 15 minutes hurry up and end?
2) Larry Flynt is demanding a bailout for his industry. He’s actually still turning a profit, but, hey, every other asshole out there is hustling for a bailout, so why not join and hopefully get people pissed off about the bailout? I’d just like to note that turning a profit makes Flynt a far better capitalist than anybody at AIG, Goldman Sachs, Wachovia, Ford, GM, Chrysler, or most of the major airlines. Yes, I’m sure that his industry is the recipient of public-sector favors like every other industry out there, but there are relative degrees of favor and benefit, and at the end of the day Flynt manages to make a profit while so many others don’t. That has to count for something.

Since he’ll be operating only on the side of the border where folks won’t be inclined to use him as a human shield*, it’s more accurate to say he’ll be looking for Yosef ha Sh’rarav (I suspect you can translate that trisyllabic word unaided in this context).
Wonder if any of them will ask him when exactly Israel will die, now that Obama has been elected.
*in the physical sense, as opposed to the symbolic sense in which the GOP made him into a human shield during the campaign.

I’d bet on the porn industry getting fewer such favors. They’re a Bastion of Invisble Handedness and American Entreperejkl;fafdopiwhateverism.

Looks like they’re a bastion of invisible one-handed typing near the end of that comment.

I’m guessing Joe the Plumber will be running for President someday. I’m only half joking.
And why not? We’ve had Bush actually win (once, anyway), and Sarah Palin is likely to run, so it’s not like there are any standards.

I’m not dead yet!
