This and that

I do want to get back to some issues raised in discussing my TSA posts, but maybe it would be good for the blog if we also get away from the TSA for a bit.
First, to ease this segue, I want to address all of the criticisms that Obama should have returned to the White House rather than staying in Hawaii after the attempted bombing. While the readers of this blog know that I am very critical of him, I can’t fault him on this one. If you were a black guy with close family in Africa and a Muslim name, would YOU get on an airplane while the TSA is on the alert for Nigerian Muslims?
Second, my brother has done something that may cause me to renounce our family ties forever: He has dared to insist that Gilles has better frozen custard than Kopp’s. My wife did some taste testing during our holiday trip to my ancestral home, and she agrees with me that Kopp’s is better. So at least our marriage is safe. But my brother is on thin ice. The only thing he has going for him is that he agrees that Kopp’s is better than Oscar’s. (And, for what it’s worth, I agree with him that Gilles is better than Oscar’s.)
Now, off to see a guy do tricks with a live tiger.

I’m sorry to have to say this, but frozen custard tastes like snot. All you need is enough milkfat, not a bunch of egg yolks gumming things up.

Culver’s is rank (though mostly due to association with the butter burger). Michael’s is very good.

My Aunt works at Culver’s, so I won’t order a Predator strike. I will, however, punish you by making you spend time with her daughter.
Kevin, you are mistaking good Milwaukee-style frozen custard with French Vanilla ice cream. However, I can’t be too harsh on you, because Gilles also confuses the two. Fortunately, Kopp’s knows better. Oscar’s also gets the distinction, but they have less flavor than either place, and the texture is off.

Doktor T: this moose picks gillies. Probably due to family reasons. My folks used to go there when they worked at County Hospital. Still go there when we stop on by.
PJB – no predator, just suggestion to check out smaller restaurants/non chains for variety! then we can have the predator hit somewhere else
(and doktor – nice little dig. the “BHO should have gone back” is a payback criticism for shrub’s continuation to attempt to figure out what Horton Heard back on 9/11. )

What do all of those frozen custard orderings matter, if none of them is Abbott’s?

I’m taking the fucking train from now on unless there’s an ocean in the way, I don’t care how long it takes, it’s worth it just to not have to deal with the security hassle.
